My Moo.com Business Cards & FREE delivery for YOU

gaiachik - written in the mighty month of July 2009

Looking for a reliable company to print my flashy new business cards to promote my website designing abilities.. I have very recently come across Moo.com and have fallen in love with them. The quality and value for money of the products is outstanding.

I am so pleased with their work that I have also used their services to print my wedding invites, the little stickers that sealed every invite I sent and the mini-cards that will decorate all the wedding favours! I recommended it to my friends and clients alike. Below you can see both my cards and the ones that I created for Two Gents Productions, a productive and original theatre company, all printed by Moo.com

Now before I forget about the FREE part that you all were looking for.. Moo.com have a very likable newsletter always full of treats and this month they gave me one I can share with all of you. A code for free delivery on orders over 10 GBP: 4B2G82 (valid until 31st August 2009). All you need to do it go to their website, make the order and add the code at check-out. Happy Shopping.

Recycled Fashion Show

17th June 2009

With the Fashion week coming up me and a friend, Tina, have decided to take up a little challenge and make a dress out of recycled material for a green fashion show. We have picked up some old ragged cushion covers, a deck of old mismatched playing cards, and a pair of torn jeans.

Out of a yellow cushion cover, with Tina's cousin's help, we made the dress. With the red covers we made a lot of decorative flowers and with the jeans and a broken belt we made the bag. If you would like to see more of it, the show will be repeated at the Whitgift Shopping Centre, Croydon on the 25th June at 2.30pm and 4.30pm

My Logo-design

May 2009

Creating a logo is a very demanding challenge. Here is how I went about mine. To start with I took hold of pen and paper. And I started doodling. Initially it was my name, then my initials, then my artistic alias, gaiachik. I liked the idea of the "G" sitting on the "C" forming two semi-circles and, in a bigger view, a bird's wings. However this was not fitting in with the style I wanted for my professional profile. I moved on to a more tech-based approach and started on Illustrator. With the latter I have finalised the details and the feel of the logo that I wanted, plus I also made the letters that compose my name "Gaia Chikura" in the header. All starting from the letter "G" as illustrated in the last picture (click the thumbnails to enlarge the images).
